1. Timothy 1, 3-4 and 2. Timothy 4, 3-4 and Titus 1,13-14 talks about the myths that often rise so many places in the church.
Why is it always the cults themselves who warn about other cults ? Why is only the bigots that warn about the bigotry ? The christian spiritualists that rises the alarm about the New Age ? How can the blind lead the blind ? Why does those who warn against the devil speak too much about him ?
Why do we allow the myths be so important ? Why can´t we understand how to separate cult teachings from evangelical teachings ?
I believe it is because we all need to die with Christ. And it is not a half-way death. And it is slow, and painful. And in the end, you have nothing to say than “Christ, and him crucified. “
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith. (1. Timothy 1, 3-4)
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2. Timothy 4, 3-4)
This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth. (Titus 1,13-14)
