The law, the freedom and the commandments ?

So let us do some math. Or theology.

The law is not enough
We know from the bible that the law is not for the righteous. And certainly not for the pharisees to   keep in their hands and to twist it to their liking.
The law is for the hungry and the broken, so that they may find the way. So that  they may be driven to the cross. Because the law drives you to Christ and the love of Christ drives us to turn away from our sins.
The christian freedom
1 Cor 6, 12 says:”All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful.” So as a christian I am allowed to everything, but not everything is good for me. For me it says that the freedom is total. And they also sneeked in that breaking the laws of your conscience is not necessarily a good thing. But yes, the freedom is total.
The commandments of old
We all break them. And when we break them, we must live in the trusting companionship with Jesus. In honesty and trust we grow in him. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Teaching to deliberately break the commandments.
If I am doing the math, it is possible to tell yourself that you are planning to break the commanments. Not that you live like a pharisee, but you just objectively tell yourself. This is th
e commandment, I will teach myself to break it. The next step is to teach others to break it. And the third step, if you as a minister or leader teach people to break the commandments, in the name of something.
The new commandment
Jesus gives a new commandment which is
John 13, 34
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
The new commandments is not really new.
The law remains. The love remains.

Luke 10
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,“Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
27So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
28And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
Classic christianity
It is the love that comes, when all else has failed.

When we do not add anything or subtract anything.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God the Father, died for our sins. Resurrected to eternal life.

All of these together.
I have always been tought that these are different. The law is not the same as the christian freedom. Sinning is not the same as making as teaching yourself or others to break the commandments. The new commandments seems easier to follow than the old. But the new commandments are not really new. It is only fulfilled in Christ.
So christianity is just not changing that much, because Jesus is changing. The freedom in him is available for you now. When everything works and when all have failed. But there is no christianity without the Son of God, his death and his resurrection.
