Matthew 5, 19-20
“… Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Moderates must do social justice better than progressives and the liberals and those who trust too much the political Jesus. Do the social justice for the good of the people and for the love of God, and within what is the love of God, and not without.
We must heed the great calling, but without f.ex. deliberatately starting to teach people break the commandments. Yes, this is also a good religious calling, that can be done without the politics.
And we have to be better than the social progressive, not for the competition, not as a dishonest people. But so we have tried every method to fight evil in the world.
So, be it well if they call us political hawks or bigots. Our calling is to preach the gospel, and it does not hurt to people people along the way. Let it not be said about us, that we did not seek the reconciliation of God for all men and women, unto the heart of Christ.
